1. Description of Service

AVIF Tools provides a free online image conversion service. The service currently allows users to:

• Convert images to AVIF format (from JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF)
• Convert AVIF images to other formats (JPG, PNG)
• Download converted output files
• Access sample AVIF files for testing and reference

The service is provided "as is" without any warranties or guarantees of availability, quality, or performance.

2. Acceptable Use

2.1 Permitted use

You may use AVIF Tools for personal, professional, or commercial purposes, provided your use is lawful and consistent with these Terms.

2.2 Prohibited use

You may not use AVIF Tools to:

• Upload images containing illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory content
• Upload images that infringe copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
• Upload images containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or child exploitation content
• Upload images containing personal data of others without proper authorization
• Upload files containing malware, viruses, or code designed to harm or exploit our service
• Use automated tools or bots to abuse or overload our service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or systems

2.3 Your warranties

By uploading images, you represent and warrant that:

• You own the images or have all necessary rights to use them for this purpose
• The images do not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights
• The images do not contain malicious code or harmful content

3. File Handling and Automatic Deletion

Deletion is automatic and irreversible. We cannot recover or restore files once they have been deleted. It is your responsibility to download converted files within the 1-hour window.

AVIF Tools does not provide permanent cloud storage.

3.1 Session management

• Each upload session is assigned a unique temporary identifier
• Converted files are accessible through your session during the 1-hour window
• We are not responsible for lost sessions or expired download links

4. Service Limitations

4.1 File size and format

• Maximum file size: 30 MB per file
• Batch conversions may be limited to a maximum number of files per session
• Only supported image formats are accepted: JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF, AVIF
• Static GIF files are accepted for conversion. Animated GIF to animated AVIF conversion is not currently supported.

4.2 Usage limits

• We may implement rate limiting to prevent abuse
• Excessive use or automated access may result in temporary or permanent blocking
• We reserve the right to refuse service where these Terms are violated

4.3 Availability

• We do not guarantee 100% uptime or continuous availability
• We may perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts the service
• We may modify or discontinue features of the service at any time

5. Content Ownership and Licence

5.1 Your images

You retain all ownership rights to the images you upload. We do not claim any ownership or intellectual property rights over your images. By uploading images, you grant Space Bits, S.L. a temporary, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process and convert your images for the sole purpose of providing the service. This licence terminates automatically when your files are deleted from our servers.

5.2 Website content

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Space Bits, S.L. or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our website content without permission.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We specifically disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available
• Warranties regarding the accuracy, quality, or reliability of conversion results
• Warranties of fitness for any particular purpose

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Space Bits, S.L. shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to or alteration of your files
• Damages resulting from loss or deletion of uploaded or converted files
• Damages resulting from errors or inaccuracies in conversion
• Damages resulting from service interruptions or unavailability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable consumer protection or other mandatory law, including any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Space Bits, S.L., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your use of the service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• Any images you upload to the service

9. Reporting Abuse and Copyright Infringement

9.1 Copyright infringement

If you believe that content uploaded to AVIF Tools infringes your copyright, contact us at support@aviftools.net with:

• A description of the copyrighted work
• A URL or identifier of the content, if known
• Your contact information
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised

9.2 Illegal or harmful content

To report illegal, harmful, or abusive content, contact: abuse@aviftools.net

Note: uploaded files are deleted automatically after a short period. Please report any concerns promptly.

10. Third-Party Services

AVIF Tools uses third-party services including analytics and advertising providers. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those services. Your use of AVIF Tools may be subject to the terms of those third parties.

11. Modifications to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, please stop using the service.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the service in the following circumstances: violations of these Terms; abuse or misuse of the service; security concerns; compliance with applicable law or legal requirements; or discontinuation or significant modification of the service. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain. Where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides you with rights that cannot be contractually waived, those rights are not affected by these Terms.

14. General Provisions

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms remain in full force.

Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Space Bits, S.L. regarding the use of AVIF Tools and supersede all prior agreements.
